Testimonials

Deborah Miller served as the project manager for the $4.2 million State Action for Education Leadership Project (SAELP) grant and worked effectively with the participating school districts, personnel from The Wallace Foundation and staff at the Ohio Department of Education. ODE was invited to apply for continued funding and, in July 2008, received notice that Ohio had been awarded continued funding for two years for $3.4 million. Deborah demonstrates effective skills of collaboration and works well with teachers, school and district administrators, and our state professional associations. She fosters positive interpersonal relationships and effectively communicates with others.

Deborah Miller spearheaded the grant development for the highly successful state educational leadership initiative, funded by The Wallace Foundation and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Her efforts resulted in the award of over four million dollars for the multi-year grant to design and implement school leadership training programs and state policy structures. She coordinated the design of the grant proposal and directed fiscal and project management to successfully meet performance-based criteria for grant renewal. Her work at all phases of the project has been exemplary in it design and execution — leading to major improvements in the training and support of education leaders and to sustainable frameworks for improving school performance and student achievement. Deborah is a tremendous team player who mobilized broad coalitions of state policy leaders, educators, business representatives, agency staff, and district and school personnel to accomplish complex, ambitious goals. She has excellent analytic and writing skills essential for grant-writing, project management and reporting. She demonstrates tremendous commitment and dedication to achieving project goals and works with great deft and facility to lead others in the pursuit of excellence at every level.

Trinity Congregation Council was privileged to have Deborah Miller help it clarify its response to the needs of Trinity’s people and the broader community in our current economic situation. Deborah’s process was straight-forward and easy to follow. Every member of the council was engaged. And, in the end, we had a plan to act upon in the following weeks.
